The most important factor to appreciate in the Compilation of Momo is that this volume contains the video of a little one, who was found by her mother, alive. This video is told through the point of view of Momo, who relate the video of how she came to be a live-in maid, and how her mother chose to raise her as one. This volume also includes a foreword written by the author, and an introduction written by Marina Tsatsouline. I especially liked the portion written by Marina Tsatsouline, because it included information on the origin of the name, and how it relates to the Japanese language. In my opinion, the majority of people involved in the making of this video either did not have the knowledge needed to produce an interesting text, or didn't care enough to do so. Regardless of what you think of the contents of this tome, this volume is a great place for anyone interested in Japanese studies, and as far back as I'm sure that it's possible to date..
